8 Tips for warm hikes

There’s no doubt that nothing can ruin a great walk in the woods like freezing. Dressing correctly when going on a walk in the forest is crucial to having a good experience. Heat Experience has therefore created a practical guide on how to dress correctly when going out in the cold, without having to resort to changing clothes all the time. With our guide, you don’t have to worry about freezing on the trip. We’ll show you how to dress both warm and right, and best of all – it doesn’t have to involve using battery-powered thermals, although few things beat the luxury of being able to regulate the warmth of your clothes instead of taking them on and off wear clothes throughout the trip.

Here are our 8 tips for warm walks in Norwegian nature.

  1. Dress in several layers of clothing, and always wool on the inside.
  2. Apart from wool, you should have technical garments that protect against weather and wind and/or  our products that produce heat.  It is important to choose clothing that ventilates excess heat and moisture.
  3. Always wear a hat when it’s cold.
  4. Keep your hands warm! On the very coldest winter days, mittens are recommended instead of gloves. Check out our  All Mountain Warm Gloves  or  Everyday Warm Mittens :
  5. Don’t take too much with you on a trip. A large and heavy bag makes you sweat and struggle more than necessary. Pack light!
  6. Most people stay warm when they are in motion. The most critical period is when you sit down for a break, or, for example, for posting while hunting. If you combine a warm and sweaty body with slightly damp clothes, it will quickly get cold! With  battery-powered heated garments,  you can dry your clothes during the break instead of buying new clothes. This saves you both time and energy.
  7. Eat well with food on tour. The body needs energy to stay warm.
  8. Wear large shoes, which have room for wool and/or heated soles. A well-known military trick is to wear bread bags in your shoes. But we clearly prefer heated soles.

Tips and tricks: How to store your HeatX batteries in summer.

Summer is coming, and it’s time to say goodbye to our Heat Experience garments for this time. But don’t be afraid, we’ll take good care of your batteries while you enjoy the sun and your holiday!

The lithium-ion batteries are like little superheroes that bring your warm clothes to life, and like all heroes, they need a little rest and relaxation every now and then. Therefore, we will give you some tips on how to store your batteries in a good and safe way

First and foremost, recharge your batteries before giving them a well-deserved break. We don’t want them to suffer from “low battery syndrome” and feel drained when winter returns. So give them a good charge and they’ll thank you later.

When you remove the batteries from your clothes, you can imagine that you are removing the heart from the chest of a living being. But don’t worry, they’ll survive it! If you leave them in your clothes, it could damage the connector, and we don’t want that.

Heat Experience Heated Outdoor gloves & mittens use 2200mAh Lithium-ION batteries that badly need a summer break after a long and hot season. It is then important to unplug the batteries, charge them and store them in a safe place.

So where should you keep your little superheroes? Well, think of a cool, dry place as a kind of spa for the batteries. It is ideal if the temperature is between 20-25°C (68-77°F) and the humidity is less than 50%. We don’t want them to sweat too much or get heatstroke, so avoid direct sunlight and place them in a fireproof container for added safety.

And even if your batteries are taking a break, that doesn’t mean you should forget about them completely. Check on them every now and then, give them some attention and a little charge if they need it. A little care can go a long way.

We hope these tips have been useful for taking care of your batteries, and that you can now enjoy the summer with a clear conscience. It’s been an absolutely fantastic winter season, and we’d like to thank everyone who found this blog post helpful for being a part of the Heat Experience family.
